Creative Ways to Drive Rave Reviews

Did you know 95% of shoppers read online reviews before making a purchase (Spiegel 2017)? Plus, 85% trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations (BrightLocal.com). This is why reviews are so valuable for your wedding business. Real reviews are word-of mouth business drivers, digital trust-makers and one of the best ways to create up-front transparency with couples.

Reviews help during the planning process to help couples determine if they should hire you. Put yourself in the planning process and think about moments in time that can affect the way couples think about you from the very beginning. Here are creative ways to drive rave reviews and teach couples how to talk about you: 

 

1. Create Cues Across Social Channels

Couples are researching you on TheKnot.com, your social accounts and beyond! They are looking for proof that you are who you say you are. Make sure you make your top 3 reviews sticky on the top of your profile on TheKnot.com and add testimonials to your website to show future couples more about you. If you won Best of Weddings before add it to your bio on your social channels to server as a trust-maker. Respond everywhere to create a true connection and regram your clients to show they like to talk about you online.

2. Reinforce Reviews Along the Way 

Ask for your couple's engagement photos and post them using their hashtag to let them know you are excited to work on their wedding. You can set one day a week to feature an engagement photo of one of your couples and talk about them on your social accounts. Get content from your couples from their wedding and share it out.

3. Build Reviews Into Your Workflow

Check in with your couples 2-4 weeks post wedding in a stand alone email asking for a review. Make sure your message is concise and fits on the screen. Congratulate newlyweds at 50 days with a card or bottle of wine.
