9 Details From The Knot Gala 2018 We Can't Stop Thinking About

We can't believe that one week ago we were celebrating the wedding industry at The New York Public Library  with over one thousand of our closest friends at The Knot Gala.

For our ninth  annual gala we were reminded that love is the most enduring power in the world. The night is so special because it's a time for the wedding community to come together and have fun. The gala is the wedding industry event of the year and we got to toast to a combination of humanity, vivid imaginations and bold innovation. Each year we are amazed by the designs our talented pros come up with. Amy Shey Jacobs of Chandelier Events created the most beautiful "Love Can Change The World" inspired party and took guests to global destinations.

From the floral globe (L'Atelier Rouge) on the front steps of New York Public Library to a tunnel of TV's (Visual Comet) that lead to the world of tomorrow room we were blown away. In honor of our ninth annual gala here are 9 details that we just can't stop thinking about, featuring photos by Roey Yohai Studio.

1. The Grand Entrance

Guests were greeted by a 10 Foot globe created by L'Atelier Rouge centered in the arches of New York Public Library . Playing on the stairs was an electro pop harpist from On The Move Entertainment. Also on the stairs were a crew of four Pan Am-style flight attendants from Shein Artists greeting guests and handing out the even passport created by Ceci New York

2. Video-Mapping

The entire library facade was lit with blue sky and cloud projections by Visual Comet. On the ceiling was video-mapping showcasing clouds, vintage planes, parachutes, white doves flying and skywriting of The Knot logo. Later in the night there was a sunset, northern lights, constellations and shooting stars across the ceiling (unreal!).

3. Hot Air Balloon Stage

There were 2 hot air balloons popping off the background in a 3D effect. The 3D balloons came to live with flowers. The 3 2D hot hair balloons had a floral billowing out of the baskets. At the bottom of the stage was clouds of white baby's breath. This display was a collaboration between Chandelier EventsL'Atelier Rouge  and Bombshell Graphics. Ceci New York's design was incorporated into the backdrop.

4. Passport Studio

On the left staircase was Banga Studios portrait style photos (AKA the best passport photo you'll ever take!).

5. The Vow Lounge

On the right staircase was the VOW lounge where pros were able to join The Knot and vow their support to end child marriage (every 3 seconds a girl under the age of 18 is married).  Earlier in the day, The Knot announced our partnership to support VOW and its philanthropic mission to end child marriage by 2030

6. The Global Pavilions

Guests were transported to the...

Zen pavilion inspired by the zen gardens of Japan. The space was lined with massive bamboo trees and Tokyo street eats were served up (Thomas Preti Caterers).

Polar Pavilion included a 10ft bar made complete of ice (Okamoto Studio) and filled with thousands of oysters (Oysters XO). The Oysters XO girls and guys were dressed in their best Alpine gear shucking oysters all night long!

Moroccan Spice Market inspired by markets of Marrakesh. Gio Draping Events created a dramatic Moroccan tent high above the spice market. Inside there was a Moroccan hot tea infusion bar (Make Your Life Sweeter). Think hot tea-cotton candy infusions in Clove Chai, Moroccan Mint and Jasmine.

The French Pavilion inspired by the lavender fields of Provence. The space included gold tables (RentQuest) filled with delicious eats. Thomas Preti Caterers even served up desserts with elderflower cream just like the royal wedding!

7. 360 Degree Photo Booth

Studio Z Photo Booth was the life of the party with their one-of-a-kind photo opt moment.

8. Digital Diner

The cool conveyor belt (888brands LLC) was an Instagram-worthy moment. It was passing around mini slides and french toast (Thomas Preti Caterers). It was the perfect way to step into the future.

9. The Never Ending Dance Party

Everyone who attended loves to have a good time and we didn't want to leave the dance floor. On The Move Entertainment and DJ Brian B created the best vibes and we had an amazing time dancing the night away.

A special thank you to the amazing and talented team of pros who created an unbelievable event:
