7 Reasons Why The Knot Couture NYC 2017 Was Our Best Show Yet

We always look forward to our fall Couture Show in NYC -- not just because we get to spend the day looking at the most gorgeous dresses up close and personal after a busy Bridal Fashion Week. Couture is really the best because we get to hang with local bridal salon owners from NYC (and beyond) and check out all the up-and-coming trends in bridal fashion with them. This year we got to connect with so many new and old friends at Couture. And we don't want to brag, but it might have been our best NYC show to date. Here, 7 reasons why we think The Knot Fall Couture Show 2017 was one for the books, featuring photos by KLK Photography.

1. We got to see dresses in not 1, but 2 locations.

For the first time ever, Couture was not only at the Metropolitan Pavilion, but also at the Metropolitan West. With two grand spaces playing host to the show, we were able to bring in more emerging talent, alongside experienced industry rock stars.

2. The “Say Yes To The Dress” Crew made an appearance.

Yep, that's right! Lori and Monte from "Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta" stopped by Couture on Saturday morning to chat with designers and scope out new trends for their store.

3. Maggie Sottero Designs celebrated 20 years in business.

Founded in 1997, Maggie Sottero Designs has been celebrating their 20th anniversary all year long. Their extra special touch at Couture? A custom white wall where attendees could leave their best wishes to the company.

4. The elegant decor complemented the dresses perfectly.

The talented team at Birch Event Design put together a moody, orchid inspired design that complimented the bright white dresses at Couture. Think: lush, velvet textures, and bold, black and white graphic floors (Bombshell Graphics).

5. We got to see some of the gorgeous gowns against the backdrop of NYC.

Here's something about Couture you might not know. Most designers bring a model (or two) along with them to model gowns and show local bridal salons exactly how the designs look, off the mannequin. Our amazing photographer (Kristi from KLK Photography) brought some of the models outside to really see what they could do. The results? Pretty fabulous.

6. We snacked on sweet treats and hors d'oeuvres.

Despite all the excitement of Couture, we needed a quick pick-me-up around 3 PM. Thankfully, the fluffy Le Puf cotton candy and delicious hors d'oeuvres by Purslane Catering were there to save the day.

7. And ended the day with a glass of champagne.

There was no better way to end Couture (and New York Bridal Fashion Week) than with a glass of bubbly. Thanks to Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, attendees enjoyed a champagne happy hour to top off their day.
